A Voice For Florida

The Coalition for Silver Solutions believes that Florida should conduct a comprehensive examination of its long-term care system. This includes how both home and community-based, as well as institutional setting (nursing home) services are provided to our seniors and people with disabilities. The Coalition is willing to lead that effort, which will take a year to be done, in a thoughtful and comprehensive manner. In the interim, the Coalition members propose the following efficiencies and improvements that will ensure quality care is provided to the greatest number of elderly and disabled Floridians in need.

The Coalition proposes the following recommendations to address three policy areas of Florida’s long-term care system: funding for home and community-based services and nursing home care, policy changes to improve accessibility and quality of those service settings, and workforce retention and recruitment.
